School Climate, Child Development, Classroom Management, Parent Education, Instruction Design, and Instructional Technology, to name a few.

This is where he became actively involved with technology and computers in the classroom, with the implementation of the Apple II in the late 70s, remember those "boxes of fruit" that ol' Forest Gump talked about. "It was amazing to see the excitement that the computer created in the classroom, and the motivation spoke for itself... kids showed up everyday"!

Sam also received certification in "Computer Networking" in the mid 90s and also, as a "Multi-Media and Instructional Design" instructor for the Warren Tech Center in the Jefferson County Public Schools.

This came as a result of a creative and innovative "Multi-Media / Distance Education" grant that he wrote ('89-'90) and was awarded a "partnership" with Colorado SuperNet in "91-'92 and became the first "stand alone" elementary school on the Internet, West of the Mississippi.

Sam and his students provided innovating, exciting demonstrations and awareness programs of the integration of the "Internet" into the classroom by demonstation programs for "Educating a Superintendent, School Board President, and State Senator" on what the Internet was all about. Receiving "Teacher of the Year" honors at Secrest Elementary School in Arvada .

Sam spent almost 2 years with the TCI Education Project as a "Teacher on Special Assignment" from Jefferson County Public Schools teaching computer literacy, multi-media, computer technology, distance education to over 15,000 educators at the Sparkman Center with his teammates.

After returning to the classroom and teaching "Multi-Media and Instructional Design" at the Warren Tech Center , he became the Director of the the Colorado Online School Consortium. Fourteen (14) urban and rural school districts sharing resources and developing 20 online/distance education courses for students around the state of Colorado . Four (4) larger urban school districts: Boulder Valley , Cherry Creek, Denver Public Schools , and Jefferson County Public Schools . The 10 rural districts from around the state were: Durango , Monte Vista, Cluster County , Pueblo , Summit and Offal Counties , Thompson, Saint Vrain, Windsor , and Cheyenne Wells.

The second part of the job was to Coordinate the Distance Education program for the Jefferson County Public School s, the largest school district in the state with nearly 90,000 students.

Realizing the power of "Distance Education", Sam retired and was the K-12 Consultant for Jonesknowledge.com nationally and internationally, for the implementations and integration of distance education for K-12 education.
